Pluribus makes it possible to use real people in AI-generated media the way productions use real people everywhere else — with consent, scope, and a record that holds up.
What Pluribus is
Pluribus lives inside the tools where AI media is actually made. The free ComfyUI plugin maps supported person-bearing graph sources — LoRAs, face adapters, reference images, video, and prompt terms — and can locally group recurring appearances for producer review, along with the supported operations connected to them.
Found a real person without consent on file? Invite them straight from the panel. They see what was detected and the NIL and performance terms they are accepting; once they respond, that scope stays connected to the matching project and workflow record. The Pluribus workspace keeps the record legible for the people who sign off — production leads, legal, and business affairs.
Why it exists
AI media scaled faster than rights infrastructure. Likeness rules are a moving target — state right-of-publicity laws, platform disclosure requirements, federal digital-replica bills — and production teams are one uncleared face away from a pulled campaign or worse.
The answer is not slowing production down with legal review at the end. It is making clearance part of the file itself, tracked where the work happens, so the paper trail writes itself while you render.
How we work
A few rules shape everything we ship:
- Consent is scoped, time-bound, and revocable — a grant names channels, territories, and terms, not a blanket yes.
- Approvals name people and terms. Nobody should be asked to sign off on a blank or generic AI usage request.
- Proof is evidence, not claims. A clearance record points at what was detected, who accepted what, and when.
- Analysis stays local. Graph provenance is deterministic; optional face detection and similarity grouping propose recurring appearances for producer review. Media and face embeddings are not uploaded, and Pluribus does not identify strangers from a face or build a hosted likeness library.
Where we are
The ComfyUI plugin is free under GPL-3.0 and in early access, with email invites and a hosted accept flow live today. Buyer workspaces run as founder-led pilots. If you are shipping AI media with real people in it, we want to hear from you.
